Makarov PM pistol

The 9 mm Makarov PM pistol has been the sidearm for officers of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies since the mid-20th century up to the present day.

The Makarov pistol was used in all military conflicts where USSR and then Russia was engaged.

Moreover, it was included in the emergency kit of cosmonauts, and is one of very few firearms that ever made it to space.

The PM has been recognized by several respected industry publications as one of the best pistols in its class.

The PM’s success largely determined the postwar pistol development trend in the USSR, with simple and reliable blowback-operated automatics, a double action trigger with an open hammer, manual safety on the slide that automatically decocks the hammer when engaged, and a magazine release at the base of the grip.
